This is where we left off with the new space. We moved all the furniture and opened up the whole area. Felt like a breathe of fresh air.
Then last week, I made some trips to Ross, Homegoods and Home Fabrics & Rugs and found some great stuff to add to the office portion of this space.
At Ross, I found a great curtain rod for $14.99!
The finials are what sold me. They were reminiscent of the curtain rods in a 1920′s home where my friend was recently wed at.
Then the girls and I went to my “go to” fabric store and scored a great print for the curtains. I also found another print that I might use for something…still haven’t decided yet =) Here’s the fabric close up…
Instead of just sliding the curtains onto the curtain rod, I found these drapery rings at Target for only $6 for a set of 7. I felt like adding the rings would give the window a more airy feel.
So this past weekend I whipped up the curtains, and dressed the window up…
Adds warmth and softness doesn’t it?
The girls and I also made a trip out to Homegoods, and can I just say how much I love that store! Wow!!
We found 2 things…
a wall shelf for $36
and a tufted striped parsons chair for $99
The chair is so me. I thought I wanted a chair with wheels, but this chair has just the right amount of softness, and the stripes! LOVE!
I needed a place to put the printer, and office supplies, so we brought down this silver chest of drawers we bought a while back. I was using it as my night stand, but I decided to bring it down, cuz it’s just too beautiful to keep upstairs =)
And if you’re wondering what’s inside the drawers…
paper, paper clips, usb wires, and a lighter for my candles
my notebook where all my ideas call home, annalise’s butterfly that I promised to hang up, and my secret chocolate stash hehe
And did you notice that I removed the red rug? Doesn’t it look so much better?!
More ::After:: Pics
I’ve still got a lot to do, but I’m so happy with how it’s progressing!
My Thoughts
Hide all the wires
Accessorize and decorate shelf & walls
Keep organizing
Find a nice, affordable area rug
Memo board?
What do you think of the progress?
xo, Louise

Love that chair and the little end table that you have the printer on! Can’t wait to see how the room evolves.
Thx Mel! Yes, I just wanna finish it already! But i know it takes time. XO
Love it! Looks like a great work space. The colors are so relaxing. I liked the red rug, but you’re right, looks better without. Hey, I might have an extra flat screen PC monitor at home. I’ll check and let you know : )
Thx Faye! Aww yer too sweet! XO
Oh my gosh, Louise — it is coming along so beautifully! I love the silver chest of drawers. And the fabric on both the curtains and the chair is lovely! I love HomeGoods, too — my mom and I go poke around in there about once a month and always find awesome things!
Thx Maria =) Yes!! Homegoods is a WIN! =)
Wow, it’s really coming along! Love the floral curtains and that striped chair is super cute!
Thx Steph! XO
Ooooh, it’s so exciting to see it all coming together! I love your curtains, and that chair is fantastic!!! Also, what a great deal you got on those curtain rods. Thanks for inspiring me as I continue clearing out my “office” (currently storage) and daydreaming!
Thx Joy! Glad to hear I’m inspiring you! XO
looks like things are really starting to come together
I absolutely love that striped chair!
~Lisha
me too!! its really comfy, even the girls like sitting on it =)
Oooooh, it is looking so pretty!!! Such great progress! The curtains and chair really lighten up the room. The upholstered, striped chair is simple and chic, way, way better than the rolling chair! I love the fabrics you chose! Just hide those cords and you will be good to go
Thx Clare! Yes, those cords have to hide somehow! XO
