I had a wonderful birthday yesterday! Thank you for all the birthday greetings via Twitter, Facebook, texts and here at Laid Off Mom. I’m extremely humbled by all your warm wishes and thoughts.
I didn’t really plan on doing much yesterday, other than spend some quality time with my family. In the morning, Annalise went with the hubbs to work for a lil’ while cuz it was “Bring your child to work day.” Mia had her swim lessons and after, we had a quiet Mommy & Mia lunch. Then we picked up big sister and did a lil’ shopping, and I bought them Dream Lites. Annalise has been working so hard around the house doing her chores, for this toy. And it was about time she got her reward! I tried to teach Mia about chores, but she just couldn’t grasp the idea just yet, oh well. The girls were soo happy, it really made my day.
Then we went over to my parent’s house to visit for a lil. I also wanted to collect my birthday hugs from my parents and my grandmother
For dinner, we just went to a noodle house for some Ramen noodle action.
There’s a Filipino superstition, that if it’s your birthday you should eat noodles to live a long life. I’ve eaten noodles on my birthday ever since I was a kid, and I wasn’t gonna stop now =)
Afterwards, we went to Extraordinary Desserts for some sugary goodness. We’ve never taken the girls here before, and their eyes were soo big just looking at all the desserts. But I have to confess….my eyes were just as big, if not, bigger!
Annalise is the biggest Chocoholic, besides myself….I think that’s my fault =P and we got TWO chocolate cakes, not one! She got the Chocolate Truffle Bundt Cake, and I picked out the Dulce de Leche cake. Both of which were scarfed down with a scoop of French Vanilla Bean ice cream.
It was a great birthday!
Today, my friend Sar turns 30, so the celebration doesn’t end! Happy Birthday Sar!! She’s having a shindig tonight, and I can’t wait to party with her. Since our birthdays are right next to each other, we haven’t really celebrated together…this will be the first time…weird right?!
Then, on Saturday, my sister from LA will be in town and we’ll be having a birthday dinner with my parents, my grandma, my sisters, and our family to celebrate my birthday and my sister’s bday (her bday is on the 19th).
On Sunday, another party!
I’m throwing a “Sassy Soiree” just for me, my best girlfriends & my sisters at our house. No kids or husbands allowed! hehe! I told everyone to wear a pretty dress, and to get ready to drink, eat and craft! It’s gonna be so much fun! And I’m just really looking forward to enjoying some quality time with all of them. I will def take pics and do a post next week, so it’ll be like you are all there with us =)
Happy Friday to you all, hope you have a fabulous weekend, and thank you again for all your birthday greetings. I really appreciate it <3
xo, Louise

Aww, thx J! There’s a big resemblance huh?! I was looking at pics of my youngest sister, as a toddler, and she and Mia look so alike! I can’t believe how much they’ve grown sometimes..wish I could bottle up their youth =/ I will def enjoy this weekend =) Thx again for the bday greetings! XO

The Chinese also believe you should eat noodles on your birthday and if the noodles are long (and don’t break when you eat them) then you’ll have a long life. Cheers to a Happy Birthday and a lifetime of long noodles!
I knew the Chinese believed in the noodle superstition too, great minds think alike! hehe! Thx for the bday greetings! XO
mmmm, I went to extraordinary desserts once. It was sooo good, and they have so many things I wanted to eat! I need to go there again.
Right?!! It’s always so hard to make a decision when I go there! XO
What a great birthday, and I’m glad that the celebration is continuing for you into the weekend — that’s the best! Enjoy!
